Happy Wheels is an online game created by independent game development studio, Sinnostuff. The game pits players against each other in a competition to drive their cars the farthest. The original concept for the game was a virtual roller coaster- but ended up becoming an action game. The original game mechanics included realistic physics, customizable characters and vehicles, and a wide range of levels. It quickly gained popularity among kids and adults alike.

As players race their vehicles through the levels, they must avoid dangerous obstacles such as trees and buildings. Players must also avoid each other while navigating through the levels. This freewheeling gameplay allows players to freely drive wherever they want. However, it also leads to many injuries and deaths among players. To prevent these accidents, Happy Wheels includes several safety measures such as speed limits and protecting your character from falls. Additionally, there are health packs that can be picked up to restore your character's health when it runs low. All of these safety measures keep the gameplay interesting without making the game impossible or punishing players for making mistakes.

Some of the other mechanics implemented in Happy Wheels include character customization, vehicles, powerups, enemies and worlds. Character customization allows players to create their own Happy Wheels characters using various templates. Furthermore, each character has different personalities such as temperment and intelligence with regard to HAPPY WHEELS! Temperment is a complex HAPPY WHELLS! concept that relates to a character's attitude and outlook on life. Finally, HAPPY WHELLS! created 's world which allows players to freely explore their creations with the characters they created. Players can then use these environments in online competitions with other players.

The original Happy Wheels game was developed by Sinnostuff for Microsoft Windows PCs running Windows 98 or later with a Pentium III processor or faster at 2880x2070 resolution with Direct X 9 Graphics Card or better and 64 MB RAM or more. The main goal of the original Happy Wheels was to simulate a rollercoaster experience using a video game platform. The developers used real world physics to make each level of the game unique and challenging. They also implemented health packs, time limits and protective barriers to reduce injuries among players while maximizing player enjoyment of the game.

A lot has changed since the original version of Happy Wheels came out in 2008. New updates have fixed many issues with the original game while implementing even more fun features into the gameplay design. Currently, Happy Wheels has over fifty unique levels that players can explore whenever they want. Additionally, players can create their own levels using the environment builder tool in Happy Wheels (with some technical knowledge).
